Okiagari Shinsengumi the Warrior roly-poly doll

A blue uniform, crossed white cords and pale points on the sleeves identify Shinsengumi the Warrior. Tierra Zen presents him here as an Okiagari roly-poly doll.

A character that rights itself

The figurine is made from papier-mâché. When you tilt it, its base brings it back upright. The details of the uniform remain visible on this decorative portrayal of the warrior.

A symbolic interpretation

In the Okiagari tradition, falling and getting back up is associated with perseverance. That is the meaning given to this movement, not a promise attached to the object. The model supplied is Shinsengumi the Warrior, recognisable by the uniform in the photographs.
