Seller and scope
These terms govern consumer purchases from La Carafe at www.la-carafe.fr. The seller is LONILEAD SAS, a French simplified joint-stock company with share capital of €2,949,160, registered with the Bordeaux Trade and Companies Register under number 410 089 866, with its registered office at 48 rue Ferdinand-Buisson, 33130 Bègles, France. Contact: contact@la-carafe.fr, telephone +33 5 57 35 73 40.
SIRET: 410 089 866 00017. EU VAT number: FR83 410 089 866.
The terms supplied and accepted when you order apply to that order. Later changes do not alter existing contracts. The language selected for your purchase does not remove any mandatory consumer protection.
Products, prices and orders
The product page describes the item's essential characteristics, dimensions and use. Read the description and any care instructions before ordering. A vintage style does not mean that an item is second-hand. Product descriptions and images do not exclude the seller's obligation to supply conforming goods.
Prices are in euros, including applicable taxes. Delivery charges and the total payable are shown before the order is placed. Only payment methods offered at checkout are available. No payment method, authentication procedure or debit time is guaranteed by these terms.
Select your items, options and quantities, then check the basket, contact details, delivery address, delivery method and total. You can correct errors before submitting the order. Final validation of an order expressly carrying an obligation to pay commits you to payment of the displayed total. The resulting sale is governed by these terms and the mandatory rules on electronic contracts; a payment failure does not constitute a completed payment. You are entitled to confirmation of the contract on a durable medium, including these terms and the withdrawal information. Keep that confirmation. Contact us for access to your contract and, where legally required, its archived copy. We do not reserve a general right to cancel a valid order because of a stock or pricing error; such situations are handled under the applicable law.
Delivery
Orders are prepared Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. Friday orders are prepared on Monday, or the next working day if Monday is a public holiday. Preparation is separate from transport. You are entitled to be informed, before entering the contract, of the date or period within which we undertake to deliver. No uniform domestic or European transit time is promised.

Checkout shows the services available for the actual address and the final delivery charge before you commit. The European flat rates do not imply that every address or territory is served; an address must be accepted at checkout. These terms do not open delivery to the United Kingdom or other unlisted countries.
We must deliver by the agreed date or within the agreed period. If none has been agreed, French law requires delivery without undue delay and no later than 30 days after the contract is concluded. If delivery is late, you may require delivery within a reasonable additional period and terminate in writing if we still fail to deliver. You may terminate immediately if we refuse delivery, it is clear we will not deliver, or an agreed essential delivery deadline is missed. Following termination on these grounds, all sums paid must be refunded within 14 days, without prejudice to other statutory remedies. You may suspend payment where the law permits.
Risk normally passes when you or a third party you designate, other than the carrier, physically takes possession. Where you independently appoint a carrier not offered by us, the statutory exception applies. Tell us about damage, loss or an incorrect item so that we can resolve it. Photographs can help, but failure to make reservations to the carrier or to report within a short contractual period does not remove your statutory rights against us.
Withdrawal, returns and refunds
These new terms apply only to orders placed after they take effect on the website. Earlier orders retain the terms promised at purchase, including free returns with a prepaid label, the 15-day period and bank credit within seven days after receipt where those commitments were offered. These commitments cannot postpone a statutory refund deadline.
You have 15 days to notify us of withdrawal without giving a reason. La Carafe extends the statutory 14-day notification period. The day of receipt is not counted; for one order delivered in separate consignments, the period starts on receipt of the last item. If the last day falls on a Saturday, Sunday, public holiday or non-working day, the deadline moves to the next working day. Statutory extensions where required information is missing still apply.
Before the period expires, send a clear withdrawal statement to contact@la-carafe.fr, by post to LONILEAD SAS, 48 rue Ferdinand-Buisson, 33130 Bègles, France, or through your customer account. You may use the model form, but it is optional. Withdrawal does not require our prior approval; timely notification remains valid while the return is being arranged.
Send the goods back without undue delay and no later than 14 days after notifying us of withdrawal. Return address: LONILEAD SAS, Service Retours, 48 rue Ferdinand-Buisson, 33130 Bègles, France.
For new orders governed by these terms, you bear the direct cost of returning goods when you change your mind. You arrange shipment and pay the carrier of your choice. No flat handling or restocking fee is added.
Protect the goods in transit and include their accessories. Original packaging is recommended but its absence does not prevent statutory withdrawal. You are liable only for diminished value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods, subject to the conditions set by law.
We reimburse without undue delay and no later than 14 days after notification of withdrawal. Unless we offer to collect the goods ourselves, we may withhold reimbursement until we recover the goods or receive evidence of dispatch, whichever occurs first. No additional seven-day bank-credit promise applies to new orders.
For withdrawal from the whole order, reimbursement includes the amounts paid and standard outward delivery costs. The supplement for a more expensive delivery service you expressly chose is not refunded. For partial returns, the refunded price is the amount actually paid for the item; delivery-cost treatment depends on the remaining order and applicable mandatory rules.
We use the original payment method unless you expressly agree to another method at no cost. A voucher cannot be imposed.
La Carafe bears the necessary return and remedy costs for goods that are defective, damaged on delivery or sent in error, under the statutory guarantees. These rights are not limited to the 15-day withdrawal period. Contact contact@la-carafe.fr with your order reference.

Statutory guarantees
For a guarantee claim, contact the seller at the address or email above. Withdrawal deadlines do not limit guarantee claims. The following box explains the French statutory guarantees. It is not a commercial guarantee and does not reduce mandatory protection applicable in your country of habitual residence.
French statutory guarantees: information under Article D. 211-2
A consumer has two years from delivery to invoke the statutory guarantee of conformity when a lack of conformity appears. During this period, the consumer need establish only the existence of the defect, not when it appeared.
Where a sales contract provides for continuous supply of digital content or a digital service for more than two years, the statutory guarantee applies to that content or service throughout the agreed supply period. During that period, the consumer need establish only the lack of conformity affecting the digital content or service, not when it appeared.
The statutory guarantee of conformity requires the trader, where applicable, to supply all updates necessary to maintain conformity.
The consumer is entitled to repair or replacement within 30 days of the request, free of charge and without significant inconvenience.
If the goods are repaired under the French statutory guarantee of conformity, the original guarantee is extended by six months.
If the consumer requests repair but the seller imposes replacement, a new two-year statutory guarantee of conformity starts on delivery of the replacement goods.
The consumer may keep the goods and obtain a price reduction, or end the contract and obtain a full refund against return of the goods, if:
- The trader refuses repair or replacement.
- Repair or replacement takes more than 30 days.
- Repair or replacement causes significant inconvenience, including where the consumer permanently bears collection or removal costs, or installation costs for the repaired or replacement goods.
- The lack of conformity persists after the seller's unsuccessful attempt to remedy it.
The consumer may also obtain a price reduction or terminate immediately where the lack of conformity is sufficiently serious, without first requesting repair or replacement. Termination is not available for a minor lack of conformity.
Any period when the goods are unavailable for repair or replacement suspends the remaining guarantee until the repaired or replacement goods are delivered.
These rights arise under Articles L. 217-1 to L. 217-32 of the French Consumer Code. A seller who obstructs the guarantee in bad faith may incur a civil fine of up to €300,000, which may be increased to 10% of average annual turnover under Article L. 241-5.
The consumer also benefits from the statutory guarantee against hidden defects under Articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code. An action may be brought within two years after discovery of the defect. This guarantee permits a price reduction if the goods are kept, or a full refund against their return.
The six-month extension above describes the French provisions; it is not a universal limit for cross-border purchases. Where mandatory German consumer-sales law applies, repair extends the original limitation period for defect claims once by 12 months under §475e(5) BGB. Where mandatory Spanish law applies, the seller is liable for a lack of conformity appearing within three years of delivery of goods, with a presumption of pre-existence for defects appearing within two years. Other mandatory national rights, longer periods and applicable suspension or extension rules remain unaffected. The language of this page does not determine your habitual residence or the applicable mandatory law.
Liability, ownership and site content
Our liability is governed by law. These terms do not exclude liability for delivery, non-conformity or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Force majeure requires the conditions laid down by applicable law; a stock shortage or carrier incident is not automatically force majeure. Ownership remains with the seller until full payment, without changing the statutory transfer of risk. Site content is protected by intellectual-property law, subject to lawful uses and exceptions.
Complaints, mediation and applicable law
Send complaints to contact@la-carafe.fr or our postal address, with your order reference and explanation. If a dispute remains unresolved after a prior written complaint, you may refer it free of charge to ANM Consommation, 25 allée Rose Dieng Kuntz, 75019 Paris, France, through www.anm-conso.com or by post. Refer the matter within one year of your written complaint. Statutory admissibility conditions apply, including no simultaneous or previous examination of the same dispute by another mediator or a court and a complaint that is not manifestly unfounded or abusive. Assistance by a representative or expert may involve your own costs.
Mediation is voluntary and does not impose a contractual obligation to mediate before taking court action. Any statutory procedural requirements remain applicable. ANM's online procedure is in French. Handling in English, German or Italian by post depends on the mediator's language skills; Spanish handling is not guaranteed. The former EU Online Dispute Resolution platform closed on 20 July 2025 and is not a current filing channel.
French law governs the contract. Under Article 6 of the Rome I Regulation, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protection under the law of your country of habitual residence where its conditions are met. Jurisdiction follows the applicable rules, including consumer rights to bring proceedings in their country of residence where provided by law; no exclusive jurisdiction in Bordeaux is imposed.
