DescriptionDescription
The small yellow Daruma is a papier-mâché figurine. It follows a Japanese practice in which the eyes are painted in two stages to accompany a chosen goal.
Two moments in a project
The first eye marks the decision to begin. The second is added when the goal is achieved. In between, the figurine can stay within sight as a reminder of what you want to accomplish.
A personal meaning
Yellow identifies this small model without guaranteeing any particular result. The ritual belongs to a symbolic tradition of perseverance: Daruma does not carry out the project for you. It can also be kept simply as a decorative object.
