Fungi: 99-piece mini jigsaw puzzle

The 99-piece Fungi mini jigsaw puzzle by Ohh Deer celebrates mushrooms in an illustration by Natasha Durley. The supplier describes a kaleidoscopic design that invites a closer look at shapes and how they fit together. An activity for anyone who enjoys nature-inspired images and details revealed through assembly.

A 99-piece mini puzzle about mushrooms

Fungi is the original name of this design. Natasha Durley’s graphic creation draws on the natural world and is intended to be enjoyed as an image, not as a mushroom identification or foraging guide. Its appeal lies in the drawing, the rhythm of the composition and the pleasure of bringing the illustration together.

The kaleidoscopic approach encourages attention to repetition as well as difference. Two fragments may look similar without belonging in the same place; their neighbours and cut shapes help distinguish them. There are 99 pieces, but no set completion time. Try small groups, test different arrangements or return to a difficult area later, according to your experience and inclination.

Take time to compare shapes

Begin on a clear surface. Turn the pieces picture-side up, then look for edges if you prefer starting with the outline. Group fragments with similar details and check that they match before joining them. Alternatively, follow a recognisable motif to build a first section. When working with others, each person can focus on an area and share observations as the sections meet.

This puzzle can be a gift for someone who likes walks, nature illustration or mushroom patterns in decoration. It can also be an activity to return to between other occupations. A separate personal note can recall a shared outing or explain your choice. After completing the image, gather the pieces so you can do it again. A different method or assembly partner can bring a fresh view of a familiar design.

A mini puzzle for observing similarities, noticing differences and gradually revealing the illustration.
