6 black Duralex Picardie glasses, 9 cl

This set contains 6 small black Duralex Picardie tumblers of 9 cl, made in France from tempered glass. Their short format suits coffee; black creates contrast, for example on a white tray beside a coffee pot and spoons.

Black Picardie 9 cl at coffee time

With a 9 cl capacity per glass, this is a small vessel for a short coffee or a little water alongside it. The coffee volume depends on your preparation: the capacity is not a recipe or an extraction dose. Picardie facets and the flared opening remain visible at this smaller scale.

All six glasses are black and the same size. Place one before each guest and keep spoons in a separate bowl, or arrange them on a small side table. Only the glasses are included; the tray, coffee pot and accessories are presentation suggestions.

Black with white or patterns

A white tablecloth and black-rimmed plates echo the glasses without making the whole setting dark. Another idea is a chequered tray with a plain napkin under the spoons. Black can also pick up a detail in coloured crockery rather than add another bright colour.

The six clear 9 cl Picardie glasses show their contents at the same capacity. Only the colour changes, not the number of pieces or volume. This matters when choosing between visible dessert layers and a contrasting glass.

A small glass, not a main water tumbler

The official diameter is 6.5 cm and height 6.7 cm. Compare this with the larger capacity of the clear 16 cl Picardie glasses for small servings of water or juice. A 9 cl coffee glass does not serve the same purpose as a larger lunchtime water glass.
